From Yarn to Finished Products, Since 1950
Founded in 1950, the business began by producing textile materials through cord-making and warp knitting. Today, it specializes in covered rubber yarns for narrow fabrics, along with single-covered yarns (SCY) and double-covered yarns (DCY). It also produces knitwear using yarns processed in-house, bringing its material expertise to finished products.
Shaping Texture and Stretch
Covered yarn is made by wrapping another yarn around a core. Working with materials including elastane, natural rubber, and synthetic rubber, Koyama Covering uses different processing techniques to influence how the resulting yarn feels and stretches.
Single-Covered Yarn
A covering yarn is wound around the core in one direction. The choice of core and covering yarn, together with the way they are combined, influences the finished yarn’s properties.
Double-Covered Yarn
Two covering yarns are wound around the core in opposite directions. This balances the forces from each layer to reduce the yarn’s tendency to twist.
Covered Yarns, Beam Warping, and Knitwear
Alongside covered-yarn production, the company offers beam warping: a preparation stage for weaving in which the required number of warp yarns are wound onto a beam at a uniform length.
