SPP is a garment and textile products manufacturer based in Komatsu, Ishikawa, Japan. Operating as Monozukuri Kobo, the company brings together material selection, pattern development, sewing and finishing to take products from concept to completion.
Your partner from concept to production
SPP makes a broad range of products, from womenswear, sportswear and casual clothing to baby and children's clothing, dog apparel and textiles for industrial applications. Each project is developed around the client's design and intended use.
The company translates ideas into practical specifications, considering fabrics, trims, processing methods, quality and cost together. Sample development and small production runs are also available, with support from initial planning through to manufacturing.
Sewing expertise across product categories
Womenswear
Production capabilities span dresses, blouses, skirts, trousers, jackets and coats.
Sportswear and casual clothing
SPP works with synthetic fabrics to produce training apparel, windbreakers, golf clothing, hoodies and other casualwear.
Functional textiles and fabric products
Applications include rainwear, cold-weather clothing, fabric bags, covers, uniforms and interior textiles.
Dog apparel and accessories
The company also applies its sewing expertise to dog clothing, fashion accessories and other textile goods.
From material selection to final finishing
Development services include material selection, pattern making, size grading and sewing specifications. Production support covers sourcing, cutting, sewing and finishing, as well as digital dyeing, printing and embroidery.
Monozukuri Kobo coordinates the stages of production around the requirements of each project. Clients can discuss the preparation and processing their products need alongside the sewing itself.
Bringing sewing expertise to new markets

Yuki Kawakami
After working as a systems engineer, Yuki Kawakami took over his family's sewing business in Ishikawa. Faced with a shrinking domestic apparel market and workforce shortages, he joined the SESSION Ishikawa product development program to explore applications for the company's expertise beyond clothing.
An idea developed through the program became amiiro, a brand of knitted bags. Following an appearance at the Tokyo Gift Show, the brand secured a pop-up opportunity at Itoya in Ginza as part of its efforts to reach new customers.

SPP's own brand, amiiro, draws on the landscapes and culture of Ishikawa. Developed with product design input from CEMENT PRODUCE DESIGN, the collection uses jacquard knitting to create patterns with different colored yarns.
The tote bags feature motifs inspired by Ishikawa's geography, the omoto plant depicted on Kutani ware, and the snow-support ropes used at Kenrokuen Garden.
