Launched on January 5, 2026, MoNo hana. takes its name from a desire to create pieces that balance simplicity with a touch of splendor.

The brand aims to consider everyone involved in each piece: the wearer, the maker, the communities where materials and skills originate, and the environment. Every piece is finished by hand, with designs that feel personal and become part of the wearer’s life.

Tin is a soft metal with a long history in Japanese sake vessels. MoNo hana. draws on its use in Toyama’s traditional crafts to create jewelry, embracing small marks and changes in the surface as traces of time spent with the wearer.

A piece can be polished to restore its luster or enjoyed as its surface evolves. With care for the delicate material, it becomes increasingly personal through use.

Re:Suzu gives damaged tin jewelry a new form by melting it down and recasting it. The service offers a way to carry the material forward into another piece, with inquiries accepted through the brand’s official website.

For its tsumami pieces, the brand also proposes Hana doki: a way to turn hair ornaments worn for Shichi-Go-San children’s celebrations, coming-of-age ceremonies, or weddings into decorative floral clocks. A keepsake from a special day can then become part of everyday life.

Nakada received the Tokyo Governor’s Excellence Award in the Fashion Goods category at the Sustainable Fashion Design Award 2026 for Rinne Shoka. Combining tsumami craft, tin, and mizuhiki decorative paper cords, the work explores how an accessory can become a decorative object once it is no longer worn.

She is now preparing to present her work in Paris in 2028. Her longer-term vision also includes working with people seeking home-based employment because of childcare, caregiving responsibilities, disability, or other circumstances.
